Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, test, and debug device drivers, boot loaders, and built-in-test libraries for safety-critical avionics mission computers.
• Develop embedded software in C for LynxOS/LynxElement Real-Time Operating Systems.
• Integrate and validate custom hardware and FPGA solutions with embedded software in lab settings.
• Collaborate with engineers across software, hardware, and FPGA disciplines to optimize system performance.
• Document software designs, troubleshoot errors, and support performance validation.
• Participate in certification, requirements, and code reviews to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, and application users to resolve technical issues and support product deployment.

Required Skills and Experience

• In-depth expertise in embedded software development for real-time systems.
• Proficiency in C programming and experience with LynxOS/LynxElement or similar RTOS.
• Strong background in device driver and boot loader development.
• 15 years of relevant experience in avionics, defense, or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with hardware/software integration and lab testing.
• Familiarity with safety-critical system requirements and certification processes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with FPGA-based systems integration.
• Knowledge of avionics industry standards and protocols.
• Previous involvement in performance validation and safety certification activities.
