[About the Role]

Join DSI as a Software & Controls Engineer II and play a pivotal role in developing and supporting the software and control systems that drive our advanced thin-film manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance equipment reliability, resolve technical challenges, and help modernize automated production systems. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your expertise in industrial automation and controls while contributing to innovations in manufacturing technology.

[Responsibilities]

• Design, develop, modify, test, and support control software for automated manufacturing and test equipment
• Troubleshoot and develop PLC logic, operator interfaces, instrumentation, sensors, actuators, and communication protocols
• Partner with Engineering and Maintenance teams to investigate root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive reliability improvements in manufacturing equipment
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including wiring diagrams, I/O mapping, signal flow, and as-built technical records
• Support upgrades and modernization projects, including hardware replacement, software migration, commissioning, and production rollout

[Required Skills and Experience]

• Minimum 1-2 years' experience in PLC programming using Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley RSLogix, GE Fanuc LogicMaster, or similar tools
• Proficient in troubleshooting electrical controls, sensors, actuators, motor controls, and electro-mechanical equipment
• Skilled in interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, I/O lists, and control drawings
• Experience developing, modifying, testing, or debugging software for automated machinery or manufacturing systems
• Proven ability to create and maintain technical documentation, configuration records, and change-control documentation

[Preferred Skills]

• Hands-on PLC programming with Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley RSLogix, Studio 5000, GE Fanuc LogicMaster
• LabVIEW programming with National Instruments platforms
• Knowledge of industrial wiring, control panels, field devices, and equipment communications
• Experience with reverse engineering legacy control systems, as-built drawings, and I/O mapping
• Involvement in equipment upgrades, hardware obsolescence planning, software migration, manufacturing data systems, relational databases, and document control
