Description
Inside Sales Representative
Summary
The Inside Sales Representative will play a key role in supporting Mattr's Xerxes sales team by managing incoming opportunities from initial inquiry through quotation, helping ensure customer needs are understood, project requirements are assessed, and timely, accurate proposals are delivered. This role supports the sales process by evaluating scope and feasibility, coordinating cost analysis, working with internal and third-party engineering resources, and helping maintain a strong opportunity and quotation pipeline. The position is fully remote in the United States, aligned to the Eastern time zone, with heavier travel expected during onboarding and occasional travel thereafter.
Responsibilities
Deliver accurate project takeoffs by gathering bid information from internal and external sources, reviewing blueprints, specifications, and RFQs, assessing scope and feasibility, researching material costs, labor estimates, and timeline considerations, and preparing complete bid packages for review.
Partner with Sales Managers to review customer and project requirements, evaluate costs, determine pricing, analyze competitive pricing and market conditions, prepare cost breakdowns and margin analyses, and support the development of strong proposals.
Coordinate with third-party engineers and internal engineering or design support teams to submit design review requests, confirm proposed solutions meet technical standards, and help develop customized solutions for customer opportunities.
Support Sales Managers by following up on quotes and opportunities, maintaining quotation and opportunity backlogs, tracking quote status and expiration dates, generating pipeline updates, and escalating time-sensitive opportunities to help maximize response quality and win rates.
Provide exceptional customer service by serving as a first point of contact for inbound leads and customer questions, responding to inquiries, supporting project clarification requests, maintaining customer interaction records, and proactively communicating project updates, delivery timelines, and changes that may impact expectations.
Use technology and data tools to track market trends, analyze information, support sales activity, and contribute to quote volume, project follow-ups, engineering specifications, and other sales support needs.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree preferred.
1-3 years of experience in inside sales, sales support, estimating, customer service, project coordination, or a related commercial role.
Experience or exposure to construction, civil engineering, or project-based work is preferred.

Strong customer service orientation with the ability to respond to customer inquiries, support clarification requests, and collaborate with internal teams to help meet customer needs.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate project requirements, track market trends, and support pricing and quotation activities using data and technology.
Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales Managers, customers, engineering/design support, and cross-functional stakeholders to align quotes, opportunities, and technical requirements.
Tech-savvy with the ability to learn and use sales, quoting, reporting, and analysis tools; experience with QuoteWerks, Salesforce, and Power BI is preferred.
Professional communication skills, strong follow-up discipline, and the ability to manage quote activity, customer requests, and opportunity progression in a timely and organized manner.
