Inside Sales Specialist

The Inside Sales Specialist position, located at our Ontario, CA facility, will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer support and revenue growth objectives. The ISS will work with existing customers and prospects to understand their needs and goals and work cross functionally to convert these findings into sales opportunities.  The ISS will be a central point of contact for customers and internal teams across the AO Smith Water Treatment family of companies.  The ISS will be answering potential customers' questions and providing follow-up information per email, phone or virtual presentations. You must be comfortable with making and receiving many phone calls per day, working with internal partners, outside sales, qualifying prospects and assisting with customer projects.  The ISS will be able to multi-task, complete projects on time and above all serve the customer with a high sense of urgency to provide an exceptional customer experience. 

Responsibilities

• - Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound prospecting efforts
• - Proactively reach out via phone and email to engage with customers and create opportunities
• - Route qualified inquiries to the appropriate sales channel for further development and closure
• - Partner with outside sellers to generate and nurture opportunities with national wholesalers
• - Quickly resolve customer issues by working with internal customer service and production teams
• - Work with internal teams to set up new accounts and ensure existing accounts are properly maintained within SAP
• - Guide new customers through the order placement, customer service, and tech service processes as well as pertinent programs
• - Establish relationships with key personnel at customers to drive partnership and engagement 
• - Research accounts, identify key players and generate relationships
• - Perform program and minor product trainings via online platforms for customers
• - Work as a liaison between customer service and external sales teams to create an exceptional customer experience across the AO Smith family of customers
• - Generate reports to gauge customer growth and opportunities

• BA/BS degree and/or equivalent sales experience
• Proven inside sales experience
• Track record of over-achieving quota
• Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Strong listening and presentation skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Travel as needed for sales meetings, trainings, industry events and key customer visits
