Inside Upholsterer – Furniture Manufacturing

Symbiotic Services is seeking experienced Inside Upholsterers for a furniture manufacturing opportunity in Conover, NC. This full-time position offers consistent 40–45-hour workweeks with no Saturday schedule. Overtime may be required depending on production needs.

Position Summary

The Inside Upholsterer is responsible for upholstering, repairing, and replacing upholstery on high-end residential furniture. This role requires significant hands-on furniture upholstery experience, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work with fabric and leather using manual and powered tools.

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities

• Upholster, repair, and replace upholstery on high-end household furniture.
  
• Fit, install, and securely attach fabric or leather to wooden furniture frames.
  
• Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, staple guns, and other production equipment.
  
• Align materials and furniture components to ensure accurate assembly and a quality finished product.
  
• Maintain high standards of craftsmanship, appearance, and quality.
  
• Meet established production requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Inside Furniture Upholstery experience required.
  
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
  
• Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus.
  
• Basic computer knowledge.
  
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  
• Ability to work a full-time schedule.
  
• Flexibility to work overtime when required.
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for shifts of up to 10 hours.
  
• Ability to operate hand tools, air tools, and staple guns for extended periods.
  
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  
• Ability to perform repetitive, hands-on upholstery work throughout the shift.
