What we’re looking for:TRD is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Inspection, Laser, Assembly Technician.
Key Responsibilities:- Assembly Line
- Prepare child parts for the next day’s assembly requirements.
- Verify correct child parts are ready before starting daily assembly.
- Assemble the required number of Upper Control Arms (UCAs) according to schedule.
- After meeting daily assembly targets, lubricate all bushings and boots, and load bins with child parts for the next day.
- Update and verify accuracy of the Active OPK Coating Quality Tracking sheet.
- Clean workstations and tools; return tools to the toolbox.
- Empty trashcans, break down cardboard boxes, and recycle appropriately.
- Empty hazmat containers and dispose of contents in designated receptacles.
- Ensure all materials needed for the next workday (stickers, lot numbers, shipping info) are secured before leaving.
- Clean the press daily and report any worn or damaged parts to your supervisor.
- Laser Engraving:
- Laser label the required number of products per schedule.
- Install laser fixtures and load the correct laser label files.
- Confirm parts are properly seated and align laser images accurately.
- Upon completion, rebuild storage pallets, place OPK stickers correctly, mark laser stickers as complete, and store pallets in designated areas.
- Update and verify the Active OPK Coating Quality Tracking sheet.
- Clean workstations and replace laser filters as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness by emptying trash and recycling cardboard.
- Quality Control and Parts Inspection
- Master TRD SOPs 0449 and 0477 for part acceptance criteria.
- Use SOPs to properly disposition parts.
- Receive, disposition, and quarantine parts using the internal database.
- Report damaged, unfinished, or mis machined parts immediately.
- Prepare parts for weekly Material Review Board (MRB) meetings.
- Maintain workstation cleanliness and manage waste disposal.
General ExpectationsArrive on time, in uniform, wearing safety shoes, and ready to work.
Meet daily inspection, laser engraving, and assembly quotas.
Use cell phones only during breaks or lunch, except in emergencies.
Report mechanical, IT, safety issues, or damaged parts immediately.
Generate problem reports within 24 hours for any issues found before, during, or after assembly.
Qualifications/ What you bring (Must Haves) – Highlight Top 3-5 skillsHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent
At least 1 year of experience in assembly technician responsibilities.
Proficient computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook)
Visual and Mechanical inspection and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to stand and walk around consistently thru a full work shift doing repetitive assembly tasks.
Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Added bonus if you have (Preferred):
Relevant mechanical assembly experience.Effective communication skills.
Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and process requirements.
