At Verrica Pharmaceuticals, we are passionate about developing and commercializing medications for the treatment of dermatological diseases, including skin cancers. Our lead product, YCANTH® (cantharidin), is the first and only healthcare professional-administered treatment approved by the FDA to treat patients two years of age and older with molluscum contagiosum – a common, highly contagious skin disease that effects an estimated six million people in the United States, primarily children. Verrica is also currently exploring a Phase 3 program to study its injectable oncolytic peptide, VP-315, for the treatment of basal cell carcinoma, the most common form of skin cancer, and has initiated a global Phase 3 program to study VP-102 (YCANTH®) for the treatment of Common Warts. As an Institutional Account Manager at Verrica, you will manage sales and business relation activities in the hospital sector across multi states, develop strategies to achieve sales objectives, and foster relationships with key accounts (C-Suite, System leadership and HCPs). Customer segments include but are not limited to: IDNs, hospitals and hospital systems with a focus on Dermatology and Pediatrics.
The Institutional Account Manager (IAM) will be responsible for calling on Institutions as
identified by the Regional Sales Director to secure access and availability of YCANTH and any other company products in both the clinical and faculty setting as required by the institution. The IAM will be responsible to secure pharmacy purchasing and distribution where required by Hospital, develop KOLs and key HCPs and work collaboratively with field sales and other cross functional partners as necessary. The IAM is a regionally focused position that will cover several states and between 10-14 institutions. The IAM may also be required to assist or perform other duties within the Company as directed, from time to time.
The IAM will be required to live within the assigned geography - Central US must reside near one of the following cities: Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, New York or Boston
Bachelor’s Degree required, ideally in Business or Health Science related fields.
Substantial and relevant sales experience in the life sciences/biopharmaceutical space. Successful and demonstrated experience working within institutions. Also demonstrated ability in working the entire stakeholder within these settings. Dermatology experience preferred.
The ability to achieve sales results, development of KOL/customer relationships, experience and success in working across sales, market access and channel teams. High agility in working in a fast-paced start up environment and the ability to adapt to business challenges as they arise.
Key requirements will include:
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a desk. Normal requirements for office operations with respect to lifting, standing and walking. The position requires extensive travel - up to 70% travel. This position requires in-person visits with HCPs and other healthcare customers.
