Instructional Advisor/Tutor
Hiram College invites applications for Instructional Advisor/Tutor (multiple positions) to tutor and advise students in the Thrive Learning Center in a one-on-one setting and assist with academic instruction of course content. The instructional advisor may assist with other services of the Thrive Learning Center in a manner consistent with the College mission and the mission of the Thrive Learning Center.

The Thrive Learning Center is a comprehensive fee-based support program for degree-seeking Hiram College students with learning differences and other diagnoses such as ADHD, anxiety, learning disabilities - dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, mental health diagnoses, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and other neurodivergent conditions. Thrive began in 2005 as the Academic Support Center at Notre Dame College in South Euclid, OH, and moved to Hiram College for the Fall 2024 semester after Notre Dame College closed. In addition to legally mandated accommodations and practices, supports include unlimited academic tutoring from professional tutors, monitoring of academic progress, social and emotional support and opportunities, and career services.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Instructional Advisor's main responsibility is to tutor and advise students in the Thrive Learning Center in a one-on-one setting and assist with academic instruction of course content.
