Position:

Instructional Assistant- Special Education

(180 days and 28.75 hours per week)

Location:

North Putnam High School

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Candidate should possess strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

• Assists instructional personnel with the development and presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises
• Assists the teacher in non-instructional functions related to providing the instructional program
• Assists with set up of classroom and prepares materials for specialized instructional units
• Assists students with classroom assignments
• Works with students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up instruction
• Maintains discipline in the absence of the teacher
• Supervises students during recess, lunch, and breaks
• Operates standard school equipment such as laminator, copier, audiovisual, etc.
• Maintains professional appearance and behavior while on duty
• Maintains regular and prompt attendance
• Takes in-service training as directed
• Maintains a high degree of confidentiality
• Promotes good public relations for the school district and community

Salary:

Commensurate with experience
