    • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program; master''s degree or higher
    • Current or eligible Louisiana licensure as an APRN or PA
    • National certification (AANP/ANCC for NPs; NCCPA for PAs)
    • Current BLS certification; ACLS within 90 days of hire
    • Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to work independently within a collaborative practice agreement

    The Department of Radiology seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our clinical team. The APP provides direct patient care across the department''s imaging and procedural services, working collaboratively with radiologists to support periprocedural management, patient consultation, and continuity of care.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform history and physical examinations, evaluate patients for imaging-guided procedures, and assess procedural candidacy
    • Provide pre-procedure evaluation, day-of-procedure management, and post-procedure follow-up, including inpatient rounding and clinic visits
    • Order and interpret laboratory and imaging studies; manage anticoagulation, sedation, and antibiotic protocols in accordance with departmental guidelines
    • Assist with and, where credentialed, independently perform imaging-guided procedures under radiologist supervision
    • Obtain informed consent and provide patient and family education regarding procedures, risks, and aftercare
    • Coordinate care with referring services, document encounters in the electronic health record, and participate in departmental quality and safety initiatives
    • Participate in teaching of residents, fellows, and students as appropriate
