    Job Summary

    The Software Development & Game Design Instructor has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, classroom and lab instruction of ethical processes, quality, equipment, operations, and troubleshooting. Assigned classes may occur during the day, evening, and/or online with varying teaching locations including on-campus, dual enrollment, and Early College High School. This position reports to LSCPA's Business and Industrial Technology Department.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • Provide quality instruction
    • Participate in college tasks, which includes but is not limited to, advising, recruiting, and tutoring
    • Serve on departmental and college committees, perform community services, and participate in continuing educational and/or professional development opportunities
    • Exhibit commitment and involvement in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum based on program, department and college goals and objectives
    • Attend faculty meetings
    • Maintain current knowledge, expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility along with broader higher education matters and trends
    • Respond to students, faculty and staff in a timely and professional manner
    • Occasional travel to various campus and/or conference, seminar locations
    • Advisor for Skills USA Competition
    • Comply with campus policies and procedures
    • Other related duties, as assigned

    Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Associate's degree in relevant field, but employment and/or teaching experience may possibly be substituted for the education requirement
    • Five years of demonstrated work experience in the field or teaching experience
    • Work independently in the classroom
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Possess great time management and communication skills
    • Valid driver's license

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with Blackboard or other computerized teaching systems
    • Teaching experience in higher education
    • Teaching experience at a two-year college

    Supplemental Information

    Physical Requirements:

    Duties may include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or moving of equipment or materials up to 25 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity are required to ensure effective instruction and safe supervision of students in classroom and laboratory settings.

    Work Hours:

    Monday - Friday, with possibility of some evenings, depending upon class schedule
