Job Description

Pacific Coast Producers (PCP), a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is seeking an experienced Instrument Technician to join its team at its facility in Oroville, CA. PCP is investing in its people and advancing a culture of service, where each employee can do their best to make affordable, high-quality food for customers across North America. Our Oroville facility produces pears, peaches, fruit cocktails, and employs 169 full-time workers year-round and a seasonal work force of over 1,200.

These positions are part of a seniority based collective bargaining unit and require work on various shifts with potential for a great deal of overtime during the processing season.

Pay Rate: $41.00

Primary job duties would include:

  • Full responsibility under superintendent or supervisor for the effective operation of electrical and electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, instruments, gauges, or controls, and related instruments.
  • Install, adjust, maintain, repair, and overhaul instruments and related equipment.
  • Overhaul cannery instruments, controls, and related instruments
  • Recognize and correct potential instrument failures.
  • Test, time and calibrate instruments and related equipment for efficient performance.
  • Read blueprints, charts, sketches, and operating instructions and proceed accordingly.
  • Keep maintenance records on instruments.
  • Obtain and maintain an adequate supply of instrument repair parts.
  • Responsible for work and instrument layout and requisitioning necessary equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Satisfactory completion of a related educational certificate, program, or degree; and/or comparable work experience, plus formal training in this area; and a fundamental instrument control aptitude, which may be assessed by a practical exam.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience as an instrument technician, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
  • Utilize communication skills to interact with colleagues and internal customers.
  • Reliable and able to maintain excellent attendance.
  • Able to work overtime and weekends as required
