About the Role:
Tristate Arthritis & Rheumatology is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Insurance/Billing Specialist to join our dedicated team in Crestview Hills, KY. Responsibilities:

• Process and submit medical claims to insurance carriers accurately and in a timely manner
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments
• Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and appeals
• Post insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and credits to accounts
• Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable and unpaid claims
• Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries, balances, and payment plans
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, payer policies, and HIPAA regulations

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or insurance verification
• Insurance Billing/Coding certification preferred
• Familiarity with rheumatology, specialty care, or physician office billing preferred
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
• Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software
• Strong understanding of insurance payer guidelines, EOBs, and claim adjudication
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability
• Professional, patient-focused communication skills — both written and verbal
• Epic experience preferred.
