Chicago, Illinois. This is a flexible hybrid opportunity combining in-office collaboration with remote work.
Note:
Candidates must have an active Illinois Bar license and 1+ year of insurance coverage experience. Experience with first-party property coverage, policy analysis, coverage opinions, or related coverage litigation is especially valuable.

Job Description
- Analyze insurance policies and complex first-party property coverage issues
- Prepare coverage opinions and provide strategic advice to insurance clients
- Handle insurance coverage matters from pre-suit analysis through litigation and resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive legal documents
- Participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and other litigation proceedings
- Assist with examinations under oath and claim investigations as appropriate
- Conduct legal research involving insurance coverage and related litigation issues
- Develop case strategy and communicate recommendations clearly to clients
- Manage multiple active matters, deadlines, and urgent client requests
- Collaborate with experienced coverage attorneys on sophisticated property insurance disputes
Qualifications
- 1+ year of insurance coverage experience
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active Illinois Bar license in good standing
- Experience with insurance policy analysis and coverage issues
- First-party property insurance experience preferred
- Coverage opinion, pleading, motion, deposition, or mediation experience preferred
- Strong legal research, analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple matters
- Collaborative, team-first approach
