About the Role
A well-established litigation firm is seeking a skilled Insurance Defense Attorney to join its growing team. The ideal candidate has strong litigation experience, excellent writing skills, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload with minimal supervision. This role involves representing insureds and insurance carriers in a broad range of civil matters throughout Texas.
Key Responsibilities
Independently manage an active litigation docket
Draft and argue motions, including summary judgment and discovery motions.
Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed.
Prepare clients, adjusters, witnesses, and experts for depositions and testimony.
Evaluate claims, assess exposure, and communicate case strategy to carriers and clients.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active license with the Texas Bar (in good standing).
6–10+ years of civil litigation or insurance defense experience required.
Strong knowledge of California Rules of Civil Procedure.
Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills.
Proven ability to handle a litigation caseload with minimal supervision.
Professional communication skills with clients, adjusters, and opposing counsel.
Trial experience is a plus but not required.
