Interim Manager of Case Management

FocusPoint is partnered with a respected acute care organization in the Los Angeles region to identify an experienced Interim Manager of Case Management (RN). This assignment supports hospital case management operations and requires a leader who can step in quickly, stabilize workflows, and guide teams through transition.

This role is ideal for an RN with manager or director level case management experience who thrives in fast moving environments and can deliver immediate impact.

The Interim Manager of Case Management provides leadership and operational oversight for acute care case management functions, including care coordination, discharge planning, utilization review, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The role ensures continuity of services, supports throughput initiatives, and maintains compliance with regulatory and payer requirements.

This is a hands on leadership assignment requiring strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to support staff while driving daily workflow execution.

• Oversee daily case management operations within an acute care environment

• Support care coordination, discharge planning, and utilization review activities

• Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to case management staff

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, social work, and ancillary teams to optimize patient flow

• Review cases for medical necessity, payer requirements, and documentation accuracy

• Identify barriers to discharge and implement solutions to improve throughput

• Maintain compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, and hospital policies

• Assist with departmental stabilization, process improvement, and transition support

• Active California RN license

• Current or recent acute care case management leadership experience (Manager or Director level)

• Strong knowledge of care coordination, discharge planning, and utilization review

• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams in a hospital setting

• Ability to step into a fast paced environment and lead with confidence

Pay is commensurate with experience, aligned with market rates for acute care RN case management leadership roles in the Los Angeles area.
