Job Summary

The City of Sioux Falls Health Department is accepting applications for an Interim Patient Support Technician for Falls Community Health. This position is a maximum of 40 hours per week, M-F, based on the clinic needs. As an Interim employee at the City of Sioux Falls, you will qualify for the City's health insurance program, but no other benefits.

Patient Support Technicians provide customer service to patients. Duties include the ability to schedule, confirm, and register patients for clinic appointments, both in person and over the phone. Verify financial eligibility, third party coverage, collect payments, and answer questions regarding billing. Work closely with clinical teams as directed. Scan and maintain patient medical records, and arrange patient transportation and coordinate access to care and disease prevention.

Minimum Qualifications

Well qualified candidates will have experience with customer service duties at the front desk in a health clinic environment and familiarity with an EMR system.

Falls Community Health clinic hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Shift hours may be flexible within the hours of operation. The highest need for shifts are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Are you available to work either of these shifts? Please select which shift(s) you are available to work:
