Primary Functions - LAN/WAN Engineering (PWS 1.16.2.4, 1.16.2.5, 1.16.2.7): Resolves LAN/WAN/communication network interconnectivity issues, maintains state-of-the-art technology knowledge, and develops/maintains Mission Network SOPs and documentation. Provides engineering bandwidth for simultaneous classified and unclassified network operations.
Cross-Functional Cybersecurity Integration (PWS 1.16.2.3, 1.16.4.3):** Cross-trained in network security and authorization and Cybersecurity Engineering to identify and report network-based vulnerabilities and incidents directly to the Cybersecurity team. Accelerates incident response timelines by performing initial STIG compliance checks and vulnerability assessments on network devices during routine maintenance, ensuring network changes maintain NIST 800 Series compliance. Reduces the Cybersecurity team's workload for routine validations while maintaining full accountability.
