Intern - Accounting

Job Summary:Under the direction of the Cost Supervisor, the Accounting Intern will support the Finance team with cost accounting and inventory-related activities. This role will assist with maintaining product cost rolls, preparing inventory reports, analyzing inventory and cost data, and supporting month-end close activities. The intern will gain valuable hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while working closely with members of the Finance team and cross-functional departments to develop a broad understanding of cost accounting, financial reporting, and business operations.

Essential Functions:

Assist with the preparation, maintenance, and validation of product cost rollsPrepare and analyze inventory reportsAssist in the month-end closing process, analysis and preparing journal entries

Other Functions:

Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysisProvide support to other members of the Finance team as neededAssist with capital expenditure tracking and reportingOther duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

Attention to detail.Proficient using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and OutlookAbove average verbal and written communication skills.2 years of college level classes and actively enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program.Computer proficient in Windows based softwareHours of availability from 8:00 until 4:30, overtime as necessary
