Intern - Communications

Overview Hussmann's Internship Program provides meaningful, real-life experiences while working as a solutions leader in the food retailing industry. Hussmann interns receive competitive compensation, participate in community stewardship, network with company leadership, and learn about career opportunities available at Hussmann. As a Communications Intern in the 2027 Hussmann Summer Internship Program, you will gain experience and insight into the life of a communications professional. You will support Hussmann's overall culture and employee engagement through the development and implementation of internal communication projects, plans, and programs that connect employees and leadership to each other. Responsibilities Support the Communications team in executing communication plans and drafting content for key company programs, including storytelling to bring Hussmann's mission, vision, and Behaviors for Success to life Draft short articles and feature stories for the weekly companywide e-newsletter. Support town hall quarterly meetings Create videos and capture photos that represent our culture Provide fresh ideas and new perspectives to our Communications team Network with senior leaders, associates, and other program interns to learn about our organization Tour Hussmann's 1.6 million square foot manufacturing facility, our Global Hub for hosting customers, and the R&D Lab where we test product quality Participate in community stewardship outreach, career development events, and other team-building offsite events Compete in the annual Ideation & Innovation Challenge Ideation & Innovation Challenge: Throughout the twelve-week program, all Hussmann interns will divide into cross-functional teams and compete with one another for the Hussmann Ideation & Innovation Challenge. Working with Hussmann mentors and leaders, you and your team will identify a solution to a provided problem statement. At the end of the summer, you'll present your team's business proposal to a panel of judges, executive leaders, and the organization - and possibly create a roadmap for Hussmann's next great innovation. Qualifications Currently enrolled in school pursuing a minimum of a bachelor's degree  Minimum 3.0 GPA  Strong problem-solving, time management, and team effectiveness skills Excellent interpersonal and written communication, as well as creativity Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization   Self-starter, with the ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects, and demonstrate strong attention to detail Ability to bring solutions to challenges presented on the job Highly motivated and eager to learn   Strong computer skills   Ability to relocate, if not local    The summer internship will run from the third week of May through the first week of August. These dates may be changed to meet the needs of the student.
