Job Overview:
In the Intern Pharmacist role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to assist in preparation of dispensing prescriptions, insurance claims, and other pharmacist-related duties.

Responsibilities:
•    Respond to questions regarding therapeutic errors of over the counter or prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
•    Verify prescriptions for appropriate dosage, drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications before dispensing
•    Perform clinical duties, including Medication Therapy Management (MTM)
•    Perform quality control tests on prepared products required tests on equipment
•    Assist licensed pharmacists to formulate, fill, label and dispense medications and other health care products in accordance with regulatory requirements
•    Perform all activities of a Pharmacy Technician, as assigned by pharmacy leadership
•    Offer and provide consultation to patients under supervision of a licensed pharmacist
•    Ensure compliance will all federal, state, and HIPAA laws
•    Perform ad hoc tasks as required

• Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, medication safety, and healthcare regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
• Experience with quality improvement initiatives and clinical research preferred
• Fully certified, and participate in the Pharmacist Injection/Vaccination Program 

• Must be enrolled in an accredited pharmacy program
• Active Intern Pharmacist license in good standing in practicing state
• Previous experience in a pharmacy setting preferred but not required 

Working Conditions:
•    Full-time, typically requiring 40+ hours per week
•    Work is performed in a pharmacy setting
•    Prolonged periods working on a computer
•    Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
•    Able to travel as needed
