What You Will Do:

Ascension St. Vincent has a unique full-time opportunity for an Internal Medicine Physician or Family Medicine Physician with Public Safety Medical in Indianapolis, Indiana. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Public Safety Medical is the largest medical practice in the country dedicated to improving the health and safety of fire, emergency medical services and law enforcement personnel by providing specialized medical, fitness and psychological evaluations. Public Safety Medical is a part of the St. Vincent Health, Wellness and Preventive Care Institute, which offers customized and comprehensive on-site care in the workplace.

Position Highlights:

  • Perform comprehensive physicals for firefighters, law enforcement, and emergency responders; interpret lab results and diagnostic tests, risk assessment, health promotion, and disease prevention through education and counseling.
  • Ability to focus on a specific client population and become a specialist in the area of first responder risk, chronic health conditions, job-related cancer risks, and improving long term health care. The treatment clinic will be brand new to this location and this provider will be in on the ground floor with the ability to shape and build the practice as they see fit.
  • Perform medical assessments and provide opinions regarding pre-employment applicants and return to safety sensitive work. 
  • Occasional travel, as needed. Very minimal--in state only
  • Robust support team that includes 4 Psychologists, Physical Therapist and an Exercise Physiologist team

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
