INTERNSHIP - CONSTRUCTION SAFETY & RISK

Armon, Inc. is seeking a driven, safety-conscious student to join our safety team for a full-time, paid internship during the Summer of 2027. This position is based in the Chicagoland Area and offers a unique balance of field experience and administrative exposure. As an intern, you will work directly alongside industry-leading professionals, gaining hands-on insight into active construction jobsites while learning the administrative tools that sustain a successful, multi-layered safety program.

You Are:

• KNOWLEDGEABLE: Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a closely related technical field; Foundational understanding of OSHA standards and best practices within industrial or construction settings
• ALWAYS LEARNING: Possess a willingness and desire to learn and be teachable
• A COMMUNICATOR: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface professionally with field, office, and safety staff
• ANALYTICAL: Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail and proactive problem-solving abilities

What You'll Do:

• FIELD SAFETY SUPPORT: Observe, uphold, and reinforce jobsite safety compliance and regulatory standards across active projects to support management staff and tradespeople.
• AUDITS & DOCUMENTATION: Assist the safety department with safety audits, hazard assessments, policy documentation, and administrative reporting.
• REGULATORY COMPLIANCE: Study and apply OSHA standards, project specific and internal company policies to everyday corporate and field operations.
• PROJECT COORDINATION: Attend project progress meetings and shadow safety staff to develop specialized risk-management and mitigation skills.
• PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lift/move materials up to 50lbs.; kneel, squat, climb, bend, and stoop to reach materials.
