Internship, Electronic Design Engineer, Optimus (Winter/Spring 2027)

This position is expected to start around January 2027 and continue through the entire Spring term (ending approximately May 2027 or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, Full - Time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

• Design for manufacturing, design for test and design for EMC
• Own electrical architecture and distribution for all LV systems on the bot
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, robot and motor controls, PCB layout, EMC, and validation teams on the design of world leading robotic electrical hardware
• Responsible for architecting and designing for manufacturing of low voltage bucks for Optimus
• Build and prototype options through bench setups and integrated bucks
• Characterize system performance, power draw, and thermals through the system at different stages of charging
• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field with a graduate date between May - December 2027
• Experience with analog and digital circuit design and PCBA
• Experience with PCB component selection
• Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Experience in MATLAB, Python, C/C++ or equivalent tools for modeling and analysis
• Basics of serial communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, etc.)

Expected Compensation

$20.00 - $55.00 + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
