Internship Opportunities

Wellvance is committed to providing high-quality, cost-effective public mental health services to individuals in Iosco, Ogemaw, and Oscoda counties. We support people with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), Serious Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI), and Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED). Our work is rooted in improving the lives of community members through compassionate, person-centered care.

Wellvance values continued learning and offers unpaid internship opportunities in the following disciplines:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s Social Work and LPC programs
• Physician Assistant programs
• Bachelor’s/Master’s Case Management (Human Services fields)
• Nurse Practitioner programs

Internship Requirements:

• Must be actively enrolled in an academic program related to the internship
• Must successfully pass all required background clearances

Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule and travel throughout the service area and, at times, other regions of the state. Applicants must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license, required vehicle insurance, and an acceptable driving record. Proof of U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the United States is required.

A pre-employment background check will include:

• State and federal criminal history and fingerprinting
• Driving record review
• Education and employment verification
