Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist – Cardiovascular/Neuro to join a leading healthcare organization in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This position is ideal for an experienced radiologic technologist who enjoys working in a fast-paced, procedural environment alongside physicians performing advanced cardiovascular and neuro-interventional procedures.

The ideal candidate will be committed to providing exceptional patient care while maintaining the highest standards of imaging quality, radiation safety, and sterile technique.

Important: Candidates must reside within 30 minutes of the facility to meet on-call response requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Perform interventional radiology procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Operate diagnostic imaging equipment to produce high-quality images during cardiovascular and neuro-interventional procedures.
  • Assist physicians throughout specialized procedures while maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Prepare and position patients safely and comfortably for imaging procedures.
  • Verify patient information and obtain appropriate clinical documentation.
  • Utilize proper radiation protection techniques for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures and recognize emergency situations when immediate intervention is required.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and assist with department workflow as needed.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond within required response times.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
  • Current Indiana Radiologic License.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Must live within 30 minutes of the facility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of Interventional Radiology experience.
  • Cardiovascular and/or Neuro Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
  • ARRT specialty certification is a plus.

Desired Skills

  • Strong understanding of radiographic anatomy and imaging techniques.
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.
  • Ability to maintain sterile technique during procedures.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced procedural environment.
  • Proficiency with imaging systems and general computer applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently and assist with lifting up to 100 lbs.
