Inventory Control Clerk / Forklift Operator

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Inventory Control Clerk / Forklift Operator to support daily warehouse and transload operations. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, performing cycle counts, auditing inbound and outbound loads, operating forklifts, picking customer orders, and ensuring inventory accuracy throughout the facility.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in the Phoenix climate, including periods of extreme heat.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping/receiving, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of forklift operating experience.
• Experience with cycle counts, inventory audits, and inventory reconciliation.
• Ability to read and understand shipping documents, packing lists, and inventory reports.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Audit inbound and outbound shipments to verify quantities, product condition, and documentation.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Pick, stage, and verify customer orders for shipment.
• Accurately receive and process incoming inventory.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload trucks, containers, and railcars as required.
• Maintain inventory records within warehouse management and inventory control systems.
• Assist with physical inventory counts and audits.
• Follow all company safety policies and operating procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and work area.
• Communicate inventory issues, shortages, and operational concerns to management.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely.
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments.

Working Conditions

• Warehouse, yard, and transload facility environment.
• Regular exposure to dust, noise, moving equipment, and changing weather conditions.
• Must be able to work in extreme heat conditions common to the Phoenix, Arizona area, particularly during summer months.
• Required use of PPE and adherence to all safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in rail, transload, logistics, or bulk material operations.
• Forklift certification.
• Experience using inventory management or warehouse management software.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
