Job Summary
Our client, a leading foodservice distribution company, is seeking an Inventory Control Associate for a contract position in Central Islip, NY. This Finance role maintains inventory accuracy through cycle counting and verification, compiles records of materials and supplies, investigates discrepancies, performs quality checks, and supports product recall activities. The position works across multiple warehouse environments, including dry storage, cooler areas, freezer environments, and sub-zero ice cream storage.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cycle counting and inventory accuracy verification
- Maintain inventory records for quantity, type, and value
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Conduct quality checks and support product recall activities
- Work in varied temperature conditions throughout the week
Required Qualifications
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience in inventory control or a related field
- Ability to work in dry, cooler, freezer, and sub-zero environments
- Reliable, flexible, and comfortable in changing conditions
- Basic computer and data-entry skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior warehouse or distribution center experience
- Familiarity with inventory management systems
- Forklift certification a plus
About the Role
- Contract duration: Approximately 248 hours (roughly 6 7 weeks)
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM or 7:30 AM 4:30 PM
- Location: On-site in Central Islip, NY 11722
- Travel: None required
