Description
Careerscape is recruiting an Inventory Control Specialist for our client, a manufacturing company based in Stamford, Connecticut. This temporary role supports a warehouse team through an upcoming inventory system transition and seasonal volume increase, with an expected duration of approximately four months.
The Inventory Control Specialist will track incoming and outgoing stock, reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records, and help maintain accurate cycle count schedules. The role works closely with warehouse supervisors and the purchasing team to flag shortages and prevent overstock issues.
This position requires someone comfortable working on their feet in a warehouse environment and using inventory management software daily. Prior experience in a similar role is expected, and familiarity with barcode scanning systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
Perform daily and weekly cycle counts of warehouse inventory
Reconcile physical stock counts against system records
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
Enter and update inventory data in the warehouse management system
Coordinate with receiving staff on incoming shipment accuracy
Label and organize stock in designated warehouse zones
Generate weekly inventory status reports for management
Assist with periodic full-facility physical inventory counts
Requirements
2 or more years of inventory or warehouse experience
Experience with warehouse management or inventory software
Comfortable using barcode scanners and handheld devices
Strong attention to detail and basic math skills
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods
Basic proficiency with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools
High school diploma or equivalent required
Reliable transportation to the Stamford facility
