Inventory Control & Warehouse Operations Specialist

As an Inventory Control & Warehouse Operations Specialist, you keep product moving and records precise—balancing accuracy with speed to support a mission-driven, community-focused operation.

What Your Day Looks Like

• Keep inventory records current and precise, supporting counts, adjustments, and audits.
• Pull and stage items for customer and organizational orders with impeccable accuracy.
• Maintain the warehouse locator system—placing, organizing, and tracking stock for easy retrieval.
• Promote proper product rotation and sound stock management practices.
• Assist with routine physical inventory counts and formal audits.
• Support donor and inventory documentation and recordkeeping.

Operational Impact

• Sort, inspect, and repackage items to meet quality standards.
• Process product details and inventory changes in alignment with EIF policies and procedures.
• Manage and process pick tickets efficiently and without error.
• Enter data and complete inventory transactions using warehouse management software.
• Help uphold a clean, orderly, and efficient warehouse environment.

Safety, Standards, and Compliance

• Support compliance efforts related to IDHS, FA, and additional donor requirements.
• Follow all warehouse safety procedures and established operating guidelines.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment safely.
• Maintain sanitary food handling practices at all times.
• Participate in warehouse cleaning schedules and general facility upkeep.

Teamwork & Flexibility

• Serve as a reliable backup for other warehouse team members when needed.
• Collaborate daily to hit operational goals and timelines.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in warehouses, inventory, logistics, or food distribution preferred.
• Familiarity with inventory or warehouse management software is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

• Comfortable with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong numerical aptitude and comfort with inventory data.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Thrives working independently and as part of a team.

Equipment & Certifications

• Able to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
• OSHA Forklift Certification required, or willingness and ability to obtain.
• Forklift Operator Safety Training required.

Physical Demands

• Regular standing, walking, bending, and stooping throughout the shift.
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
• Comfort working in a warehouse setting with varying temperatures.
