Investment Operations Associate
Pay: $58,000 – $74,000 per year
Location: Near Ballston Spa, NY (on site)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
 
The Opportunity
Our client, a financial services firm, is looking for a detail-oriented, service-minded professional to be the operational backbone of its advisory team. You'll handle the behind-the-scenes work that lets advisors concentrate on their clients: processing transactions, opening accounts, moving money, and making sure clients feel well looked after. You'll be a connecting point among advisors, teammates, the home office, and clients. The firm also supports you in earning the professional licenses you need to grow in the industry.
 
What You'll Be Doing

• Building warm, trusting client relationships and offering concierge-style service
• Processing investment transactions, taking client trade orders, and executing trades
• Starting money movements and opening new accounts
• Handling client communications
• Logging and depositing checks
• Meeting weekly with advisors and sales assistants to review open cases
• Tracking monthly investment sales goals
• Supporting other projects as they come up
• Earning industry licenses on a set schedule, beginning with an accident and health license soon after hire and followed by securities licenses over your first several months

What You Bring

• Associate degree, or a combination of 1–3 years of relevant work experience and schooling, with a focus on accounting, finance, economics, or math
• Analytical, self-motivated, and organized, with an ability to juggle competing deadlines
• Clear, concise communication with colleagues, custodians, and vendors
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at every level
• Initiative, follow-through, problem-solving ability, and a team-first attitude
• High ethical standards and strict confidentiality about client matters
• Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, especially Excel and report writing; familiarity with portfolio trading platforms is a plus
• Comfort with percentages and basic tax and accounting figures
• Existing industry licenses are preferred, but you must be willing to earn any you don't have
• Bilingual skills are a plus
