Craft and Technical Solutions is an established Marine and Industrial Staffing Company with offices nationwide. We are seeking skilled and dedicated Journeyman Ironworkers to join our team in Tulsa, OK.
This role involves the installation, assembly, and repair of structural steel and metal frameworks on various construction sites. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and welding techniques, ensuring all work adheres to safety standards and project specifications. As a key contributor to our projects, the Journeyman Ironworker will demonstrate mechanical knowledge, precision measuring skills, and proficiency with hand tools and power equipment to deliver high-quality results efficiently.
Duties
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and mechanical blueprints to accurately execute fabrication and installation tasks.
- Measure, cut, weld, and assemble metal components using various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding.
- Operate cranes, power tools, plasma cutters, and measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to ensure precise fabrication.
- Install structural steel frameworks on construction sites following safety protocols and project timelines.
- Fabricate metal materials in shop environments with attention to detail for custom components and assemblies.
- Use shop math and basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality control during fabrication processes.
- Ensure all work complies with American Welding Society (AWS) standards and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members during assembly processes to ensure proper fit-up and alignment.
- Conduct inspections of completed work using measuring instruments to verify accuracy before installation.
Experience
- Must have experience using boom lifts or other aerial lift platforms.
- Proven construction site experience with a strong background in metal fabrication and structural steel installation.
- Extensive hands-on experience operating cranes, power tools, plasma cutters, and welding equipment across diverse projects.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and interpreting mechanical specifications.
- Familiarity with shop math, fabrication techniques, and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
- Knowledge of AWS standards for welding procedures and quality assurance practices.
- Experience working with sheet metal fabrication, mechanical fabrication, and assembly processes.
- Demonstrated adherence to safety protocols within construction environments.
- Ability to utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing machining, plasma cutting, assembly, and use of hand tools.
- Prior experience in construction or fabrication shops is highly desirable.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
