IS Network Engineer

GENERAL SUMMARY Under the general direction of an IS manager, provides support of computer systems to departments throughout CHS. Reports to department leadership. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides support of computer systems by maintaining and enhancing CHS systems to meet the needs of the departments and IS personnel. Serves as a resource to staff regarding specific skill demonstration, promotion of knowledge and communication. Promotes and adheres to departmental and organizational information systems security policies, standards and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS required. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Networking, Computer Science, MIS or related discipline. Appropriate work experience may be substituted for four-year degree. Two years of work experience in the field equate to one year of education. Experience with Cisco security appliances to include Firewalls, IDS and IPS. Linux experience a plus. Must meet the insurability policy requirements to drive a CHKD vehicle. Must be able to pass the CHKD driving test within 30 days of employment. Must have good interpersonal skills. WORKING CONDITIONS Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like with the exception of visits to the computer room.
