Position Summary 

Responsible for ordering ISO and Chassis parts for the organization, monitoring inventory levels, moving parts between shops (as needed), and returning parts to vendors as applicable.  

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proper usage of the shop management’s systems and Company policy. 

  • Order and track all parts needed by work shop personnel. 

  • Based on the usage of parts, monitor all inventory levels and maintain minimum operational levels.  

  • Track and organize all inventory as instructed by management.  

  • Assign parts to repair orders as necessary. 

  • Receive parts from vendors and check invoices for accuracy. 

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of parts rooms. 

  • Manage all parts warranties and utilize approved vendors. 

  • Properly annotate all parts, comments, and warranties in maintenance management software. 

  • Plan daily parts requirements to meet workload. 

  • Monitor and analyze all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies. 

  • Utilize sound judgment to determine when parts should be ordered.   

  • Interface with Depot Manager in order to discuss business decisions involving parts inventory and inventory allocation. 

  • Produce accurate and timely inventory reports.  

 

Job Requirements 

Education and Experience:  

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent 

  • Minimum 3 -5 years of relevant work experience 

 

Essential Qualifications:    

  • Strong customer service skills. 

  • Experience using Microsoft Office and strong computer skills. 

  • Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written forms; at times adjusting spoken voice to suit the sound level of the environment. 

  • Ability to plan, organize, and forecast the usage or parts based on historical data and trends. 

  • Demonstrated  knowledge of vehicle and equipment and terminology, ISO and chassis maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures, and automated fleet management information systems.   

  • Ability to present a valid driver’s license. 

 

Language Skills  

  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently. 

 

Physical Demands:   

  • Use arms to reach and stretch; hands and fingers to grasp, move, or assemble objects of a variety of sizes, and to also manipulate a variety of objects, tools, devices, and controls. 

  • Use legs to stand for long period of time, maneuver through shop environment, and perform a variety of locomotive functions which may include crawling, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and carrying or relocating objects weighing up to 50 lbs. 

  • Perform broad locomotive motions, at times in a rapid fashion, such as bending, twisting, balancing in stable and unstable positions, and reaching, with the capacity to use bodily muscles to sustain these motions for long periods of time without fatigue. 

  • Perform fine locomotive motions, at times in a rapid fashion, that involve the use of fingers for the manipulation of tools. 

  • Adjust, execute, maintain, and repeat all bodily motions, postures, and stances in order to accommodate to rapid and gradual changes within the work environment as necessary. 

  • Visually identify and focus on objects at close and distant ranges, and at central and peripheral locations, with the ability to identify their distances, depths, and colors in environments of varying lighting. 

  • While looking forward, see objects or movements that are off to the side. 

  • Use auditory senses in order to hear and isolate specific sounds, understand speech, and recognize their differences in a variety of environments of varying sound levels.  

  • Speak clearly and at necessary volumes in a variety of environments of varying sound levels. 

  • Ability to operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. 

Work Environment:   

  • Shop environment may be susceptible to climate like outdoor weather. Frequent exposure to loud machinery, air tool operation, hammering and engine noise. 

  • This position requires <25% travel.
