POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Full-time intern position beginning June 7th and ending on July 30th. The IT & Artificial Intelligence Intern supports Southern AgCredit's technology, innovation, and digital transformation initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience with enterprise technology, cybersecurity, business applications, data analysis, automation, and emerging Artificial Intelligence solutions. The intern will assist with research, testing, implementation, training, documentation, and continuous improvement projects that advance operational efficiency and employee productivity.
This is more than a traditional help-desk internship. It is an opportunity to contribute to innovation initiatives while learning how technology supports agricultural lending and the communities we serve.

JOB SCOPE:
Interns will gain practical exposure to generative AI, Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Power Platform, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, data analytics, project management, technology governance, and enterprise applications such as Salesforce and nCino. You will also learn how technology supports agricultural lending operations and how promising ideas move from concept to prototype to practical business solution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
This internship is open to current college students who are second-semester juniors or seniors pursuing a degree in information technology, computer science, data analytics, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, business information systems, or a related field. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in technology, data, automation, and artificial intelligence; experience using AI tools and the ability to explain practical use cases; and analytical thinking to identify opportunities, limitations, and potential improvements in technology solutions. Relevant coursework, projects, or a portfolio are welcome. Preferred qualifications also include effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly; familiarity with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools; strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to set priorities; initiative and a willingness to learn new technologies; and sound judgment in handling confidential information responsibly. Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform or Copilot is a plus. While all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, a preference will be given to candidates residing within our service footprint.

POTENTIAL SUMMER PROJECTS

Depending on business priorities and the intern's interests, projects may include developing a library of practical AI use cases and reusable prompts; building two or three Power Automate workflows that save employees time; creating employee-facing AI training materials and adoption resources; helping define measures for AI adoption and productivity impact; and preparing an end-of-summer presentation and recommendation report on future AI and automation opportunities.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Frequent interaction with relationship managers, credit officers, departmental staff, and management. Occasional interaction with CEO.
