IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) Hybrid

HEPCO Inc. is seeking an experienced IT Business Relationship Manager for our client, the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA). This position will serve as the primary liaison between LIPA’s business units and the Department of Innovation and Information Technology (DoIIT), ensuring that technology and cybersecurity services align with operational needs and strategic priorities.

• Build and maintain strong relationships between business units, IT teams, and cybersecurity stakeholders.
• Gather, document, and communicate business needs and technology requirements.
• Define business capabilities and identify the processes, systems, and organizational units supporting them.
• Develop and maintain performance indicators, issues, risks, and opportunities associated with business capabilities.
• Track IT projects and ensure alignment with identified business needs and priorities.
• Develop business cases outlining current-state challenges, potential solutions, expected outcomes, and business benefits.
• Support project intake, requirements development, and technology investment planning.
• Manage business-unit technology portfolios and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Communicate system issues, root-cause findings, planned outages, system implementations, and go-live activities.
• Escalate technology and cybersecurity service-delivery issues and coordinate resolution with appropriate teams.
• Support the development and maintenance of the IT Strategic Plan.
• Align IT investments, projects, and strategies with LIPA’s broader organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business, technology management, or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience as a Business Relationship Manager, Business Analyst, IT Business Partner, or in a similar role.
• Experience serving as a liaison between business units and IT or cybersecurity teams.
• Strong experience with IT or business portfolio management.
• Experience developing business cases and gathering business requirements.
• Experience supporting strategic planning or enterprise technology initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder-management, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with business capability management or capability modeling.
• Experience working within a utility, energy, government, public authority, or regulated environment.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity services and enterprise technology operations.
• Experience working with executive and senior-level stakeholders.

Contract: 12 months with possible extension for 24 months.

Pay Range: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
