Job Description
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure UNIX Sr Engineer to join our team supporting the former Juniper Networks IT Infrastructure group, now part of HPE. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in UNIX/Linux lifecycle management, CI/CD, and automation across heterogeneous environments and a proven ability to design, deliver, and support enterprise-scale operating system solutions and resolve complex incidents to closure.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, maintain, and support UNIX/Linux operating system CI/CD for bare-metal, ESX virtualization, and AMIs.
- Build and qualify RHEL9 on end-user desktops/workstations, including runtimes, modules, and application stacks.
- Deliver and install equipment onsite within labs, and support infrastructure build and staging environments.
- Engage with internal customers to align on OS builds, deployment, installation, configuration, compliance, and implementation.
- Develop infrastructure as code using Unix shell, Python, and Perl with GitHub workflows.
- Manage automations using AWX, Red Hat Ansible Tower, Foreman, and/or Jenkins.
- Research and recommend products and technologies to meet defined requirements and objectives.
- Produce high- and low-level designs, workflows, connectivity diagrams, and procedural documentation.
- Perform in-depth troubleshooting and reverse engineering to resolve incident and problem tickets.
- Integrate solutions with network, storage, hypervisors, and applications.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years as a senior UNIX/Linux system administrator across the full lifecycle.
- Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub, AWX, Ansible Tower, Foreman, and/or Jenkins.
- In-depth scripting with shell, Python, and Perl for UNIX/Linux development and automation.
- Experience designing, implementing, and testing enterprise-scale solutions in brownfield and greenfield contexts.
- Hands-on delivery of infrastructure operational and management solutions with outsourcing partners.
- Broad knowledge of distributed networks, segmentation/firewalls, IP services (DNS, NTP, DHCP), IdM, LDAP, SSSD, Kerberos, SAML, and Active Directory.
- Knowledge of enterprise cybersecurity standards, frameworks, and OS hardening controls.
- Ability to independently solve complex operating system issues and prioritize workloads.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with High Performance Computing and supporting infrastructure.
- Experience with enterprise UNIX mail server migrations (sendmail, postfix, Exim).
- Experience with infrastructure deployments for manufacturing and supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes platforms, containers, and Docker implementations.
- Experience with end-to-end automated server builds and pipelines.
- Knowledge of enterprise patch management services.
- Understanding of Infoblox.

Additional Details
- Work location: 1139 Innovation Way, Sunnyvale, CA 94089. Onsite presence required at least two days per week for labs and staging access.
- Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
- Hours per day: 8. Labor type: Technical. Work on site required: Yes.
