Dornier MedTech America (DMTA), a urology-focused medical device company with a distributed workforce across multiple states, is looking for a motivated IT Support Intern to join our growing IT team. This part-time, paid internship offers hands-on IT support experience in a corporate healthcare technology environment, mentorship from experienced IT professionals, and sponsorship toward your CompTIA A+ certification.
Working alongside our IT Support Specialist, the intern will assist with the following:
Key Responsibilities
NewHire Laptop Setup: Configure and prepare laptops for incoming employees, ensuring all required software, credentials, and settings are properly installed.
IT Support Ticket Response: Assist in triaging and resolving help desk tickets for common hardware and software issues, including Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint), printer setup and troubleshooting, computer peripherals (monitors, keyboards, mice, docking stations), and WiFi and network connectivity issues.
Documentation: Assist with maintaining internal knowledge base articles and SOPs for common IT issues.
General IT Support: Provide onsite support for end users as assigned by the IT Support Specialist.
Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field.
Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and PC hardware.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior IT help desk, desktop support, or internship experience.
CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent coursework.
Experience with ticketing systems (for example, ServiceNow, Zendesk, or Jira).
Understanding of basic networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, WiFi).
