The University of New Mexico (UNM) Division of Enrollment Management (VPDEM), Office of Student Affairs (VPSA), Student Health and Counseling (SHAC), Global Education Office (GEO) and Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) seek a highly motivated, dynamic, detail-oriented, and organized individual to join the SSIT/CIO teams as an Information Technology Officer (ITO).
The organizations supported by this position provide a broad range of services that are central to the student experience at UNM. Enrollment Management supports recruitment, admission, financial aid, scholarships, registration, and student employment; Student Affairs provides programs and services that promote student success, engagement, accessibility, health and well-being, career development, and a sense of belonging; and GEO supports international recruitment and admissions, international students and scholars, education abroad and exchange opportunities, English language programs, global programs, and passport services.
This position is foundational to the UNM IT Campus Outreach & Engagement (COE) program. The matrixed reporting structure integrates operational oversight from the supported organizations with planning and coordination from the Office of the CIO. This strategy ensures consistent access to the full range of expertise and technology solutions available to campus while maintaining a strong understanding of the specialized operational and student-service needs of Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, and GEO. The model brings local IT leadership into a coordinated support structure focused on service quality, collaboration, security, and customer experience.
The selected individual will work independently and as part of the UNM-IT team to coordinate the administration of information technology (IT) services for the core units, including their distributed departments, programs, and service locations. The position serves as the information technology manager and primary IT liaison for these organizations while participating in campus-wide IT initiatives to ensure effective and efficient technology services. The ITO will promote, support, and advocate for organizational priorities; identify opportunities to improve service delivery through technology; and ensure that technology planning reflects the needs of students, faculty, staff, administrators, and external constituents served by these areas.
These organizations support students throughout the university experience - from recruitment and admission through enrollment, financial support, campus engagement, health and well-being, career development, international experiences, and graduation-related services. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree; at least 5 years of progressively responsible work experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
