Description

DPP is seeking an IT Program Manager for an opportunity with our client in the healthcare insurance industry.
 
Work location: Hybrid in Columbia, SC
Duration: 12 months
Schedule: Onsite Tues, Wed, Thurs, and as needed; 8:00AM-5:00PM
Terms: W2 Contract
 
Position description:
  • This role is best suited for a Program Manager with audit management experience, not a career auditor.
  • The ideal candidate has successfully led audit engagement, managed cross-functional stakeholders, coordinated audit deliverables, and driven remediation efforts while demonstrating exceptional relationship-building, communication, and leadership skills.
  • This role does not work inside a PMO organization and served as the primary liaison and relationship manager for IT audit engagements.
  • Daily responsibilities include coordinating auditor artifact requests, facilitating meetings between auditors and technology teams, tracking audit deliverables, managing timelines, resolving stakeholder conflicts, monitoring remediation efforts, and escalating risks when necessary.
  • This role will partner across infrastructure, security, application development, operations, and business teams to ensure required documentation and audit evidence are delivered accurately and on time.
  • You will lead status meetings, manage action plans, track corrective actions, and communicate progress to leadership.
  • The role requires balancing multiple audits simultaneously while maintaining strong partnerships across the organization and ensuring compliance objectives are achieved with minimal operational disruption.
Required qualifications:
  • Experience leading external or internal IT audits either as the facilitator of the audit or responding to an audit. Not looking for an auditor that has conducted audits.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity, infrastructure, application development, and operational controls.
  • Experience coordinating multiple concurrent audits.
  • Knowledge of IT controls, audit processes, compliance frameworks, and strong project management execution skills
Required education:
  • Bachelor's Degree;
  • OR 4 years of job-related work experience;
  • OR 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate’s degree in any major.
  • PMP Certification preferred
Required work experience:
  • 7 years’ IT experience in a leadership capacity, including 4 years leading multiple concurrent project teams.
  • Completion of the BCBSSC Training Program for Project Management may substitute for one year of experience.
Required technology and tools:
  • This position is not a technical role, but does need the following:
    • Project and Program Management methodologies
    • IT Audit Management and Regulatory Compliance processes
    • Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools)
    • Governance, Risk and Compliance frameworks such as: (Nice to have – not required)
      • NIST
      • COBIT
      • ITIL
      • Information Security controls and governance models
Preferred qualifications:
  • Insurance industry experience
  • Experience managing audit remediation programs
  • Experience working with executive leadership and auditors
