    Description

    Job Summary

The IT Project Coordinator plays a vital role in bridging the gap between technical infrastructure and health plan operations. In this role, you will support the Project Management Office (PMO) in executing critical IT initiatives—such as claims system upgrades, provider portal enhancements, and regulatory compliance updates (e.g., CMS mandates or HIPAA security standards).

You are the "glue " that holds the project together, ensuring that timelines are met, documentation is airtight, and communication flows seamlessly between IT engineers, clinical staff, and executive leadership.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Project Lifecycle Support: Assist Project Managers in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables that support health plan business goals.
    • Schedule Management: Maintain and update project plans, tracking milestones and dependencies using tools like Jira, Microsoft Project, or Smartsheet.
    • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a point of contact for cross-functional teams, including Claims Processing, Member Services, Network Management, and Clinical Informatics.
    • Meeting Facilitation: Coordinate and document technical "scrum " meetings or stakeholder steering committees, ensuring action items are captured and assigned.
    • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all IT projects adhere to healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HITECH) and internal SOC2 or HITRUST standards. Maintain the project repository for auditing purposes.
    • Resource Tracking: Monitor team capacity and budget expenditures, alerting leadership to potential bottlenecks or overages.
    • Risk & Issue Tracking: Maintain the RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues, and Decisions) log, ensuring that technical roadblocks are escalated promptly.
     Education and Experience
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
    • Experience: 2+ years of experience in project coordination, preferably within a Managed Care Organization (MCO) or Health Insurance environment.
    • Domain Knowledge: Basic understanding of health plan operations (e.g., enrollment, EDI 837/834 files, ICD-10/CPT coding, or Pharmacy Benefit Management).
    • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in project management software and the Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, Excel, SharePoint).
    • Certifications: CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) or a Green Belt in Six Sigma.
    • Agile Familiarity: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment within a software development lifecycle (SDLC).
    • Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to "translate " technical jargon into plain language for non-technical business partners.
