Job Overview:
This IT Project Manager IV role focuses on leading a large, enterprise-wide platform migration initiative, specifically the decommissioning of legacy messaging technologies and migration to a modern messaging platform. The position requires strong program and project management capabilities, deep technical and contextual understanding of enterprise platforms, and the ability to coordinate and influence multiple application teams and stakeholders across the organization. The role operates in a hybrid environment (Tuesday–Thursday onsite when required), with flexibility for remote work and collaboration across time zones.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage an enterprise-wide migration program, overseeing the decommissioning of legacy messaging platforms and migration to a new messaging solution.
- Ensure alignment of program objectives, scope, and timelines with broader organizational goals and technology strategies.
- Coordinate closely with multiple application teams to plan, execute, and track their migration activities to the new platform.
- Provide guidance, direction, and support to application and platform teams to help them meet target migration dates and technical requirements.
- Monitor overall program progress, including individual application team status, dependencies, and milestones.
- Identify, track, and manage risks, issues, and impediments; develop and execute mitigation and contingency plans.
- Engage and communicate regularly with stakeholders, including executive leadership, technical teams, and key business partners.
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise status reports and presentations tailored to executive and technical audiences.
- Drive process optimization and continuous improvement across migration activities to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
- Ensure appropriate governance, documentation, and reporting for all program activities, decisions, and outcomes.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among Enterprise Architecture, Platform Engineering, DevOps, and application teams.
- Leverage Agile or SAFe Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Clarity, Power BI) to manage work, track progress, and report metrics.
- Support occasional workshops, leadership meetings, and on-site sessions as needed for planning and alignment.
- Participate in and help structure a multi-round interview and stakeholder engagement process for any additional project resources, if required.
Qualifications:- Proven experience as a Senior Program Manager or IT Project Manager leading large-scale, enterprise technology initiatives.
- Demonstrated success managing complex platform migrations or decommissioning efforts involving multiple application teams.
- Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture, DevOps, Platform Engineering, and their roles in modern application ecosystems.
- Experience working on large enterprise platform migrations with heavy application team engagement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to executive leadership and senior stakeholders.
- Strong self-drive, resourcefulness, and the ability to ask the right questions and proactively seek information.
- Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Ability to influence, negotiate, and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups and organizational levels.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Clarity, and Power BI for project tracking and reporting.
- Familiarity with Agile and SAFe Agile methodologies, including working within Agile teams and using Agile metrics.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, workstreams, and teams simultaneously while maintaining high quality and meeting deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business); advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP) preferred.
- Experience navigating complex organizational structures and working with cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment with generally CST working hours and occasional early calls with offshore resources.
