IT Solution Engineer II - SAP Abap Development

Solutions Engineer II, SAP Development/ABAP engineer role is responsible for independently participating in SAP software development, implementation, maintenance, enhancement, integration, and production support initiative. This role leads discovery and troubleshooting for defined SAP-system segments, contributes to solution design, and partners with offshore vendors on testing and deployment. Success in this role requires solid technical depth across the SAP ecosystem, along with the collaboration skills to mentor L1 engineers and align cross-functional partners. This individual will be part of the IT SAP CoE team and will work closely with both IT and business clients. The ideal candidate will bring broad SAP experience across Accounting & Finance, P2P, MM, Merchandising, Inventory, PP, Supply Chain, EWM, Master Data, Concur, Fiori, Basis, Security, and other SAP modules and enterprise applications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain SAP ABAP and S/4HANA applications.
• Develop and maintain enterprise SAP solutions using S/4HANA ABAP and modern SAP BTP technologies, including ABAP Cloud, RAP, CDS Views, OData, SAP Fiori/SAPUI5, SAP Integration Suite, APIs, event-driven integrations, and SAP BTP services, while following clean-core and extensibility best practices.
• Resolve break/fix issues related to the SAP system
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs and scalable SAP solutions.
• Develop and maintain reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, workflows, APIs, and custom applications.
• Design and develop integrations between SAP and external applications using OData, REST, SOAP, IDoc, BAPI, RFC, JSON, XML, and other integration technologies.
• Develop and support SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 applications, including front-end and back-end integration.
• Create and consume CDS Views and OData services to support SAP Fiori, reporting, analytics, and enterprise applications.
• Perform ABAP debugging, performance tuning, code analysis, optimization, and root-cause analysis.
• Troubleshoot production issues involving ABAP programs, interfaces, jobs, dumps, locks, workflows, integrations, and SAP applications.
• Support SAP applications across FI, P2P, MM, Merchandising, Inventory, Supply Chain, PP, EWM/WM, SD, Master Data, Concur, and other SAP modules.
• Participate in technical design reviews, architecture discussions, code reviews, and development standards.
• Prepare technical specifications, development documentation, test plans, deployment documentation, and support documentation.
• Coordinate with SAP functional teams to understand requirements, identify technical impacts, and deliver solutions.
• Work with Basis, Security, infrastructure, integration, data, and business teams to resolve complex SAP issues.
• Support SAP releases, transports, testing, deployments, and post-production validation.
• Participate in 24x7 production support, incident management, problem management, and change management.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions for recurring production issues.
• Monitor and troubleshoot SAP applications using SAP Solution Manager and SAP operational support tools.
• Follow ITIL processes, SAP development standards, security guidelines, and enterprise architecture principles.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent SAP experience.
• 7-10 years of SAP experience with strong ABAP and S/4HANA ABAP Development expertise.
• Experience in SAP application development, integration, implementation, and production support.
• Strong business process knowledge, requirements gathering, solution design, and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Proven expertise in root-cause analysis, problem solving, incident resolution, and data analysis.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with business users, IT teams, offshore vendors, and SAP support teams.
• Experience with technical documentation, knowledge transfer, SAP training, and managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
