Job Description

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a global financial services company, for a Remote IT Support Specialist to provide nationwide technical support to a distributed workforce. This is a great opportunity for a service-minded technologist who enjoys solving problems quickly and keeping people productive, all while working from home.

Day to day, you will field tickets and calls from employees across the country, troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues, and escalate more complex problems to the right teams. People who thrive in this role are patient communicators, methodical troubleshooters, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, security-conscious financial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming help desk tickets, calls, and chats from employees nationwide
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
  • Provide remote support for laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals
  • Set up and configure new user accounts, hardware, and software
  • Administer Active Directory accounts, permissions, and password resets
  • Support VPN, VoIP, and collaboration tools for remote employees
  • Maintain accurate documentation of issues and resolutions in the ticketing system
  • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate second and third level support teams
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees from an IT perspective
  • Follow security protocols to protect sensitive financial and company data

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience in a technical support or help desk role
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office 365
  • Experience with Active Directory, remote desktop tools, and ticketing systems
  • Solid understanding of networking basics including VPN and Wi-Fi troubleshooting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting
  • Associate degree or relevant certification such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ preferred
  • Experience supporting financial services or another regulated industry is a plus
