IT Systems Analyst
BlueWave is hiring an IT Systems Analyst for an aerospace organization based in Texas. As an IT Systems Analyst, you will deploy and support physical Linux systems from initial hardware installation through operating-system configuration, network connectivity, and enterprise access integration. This hands-on role requires the ability to troubleshoot hardware, operating-system, and networking issues when standard deployment processes fail.
Responsibilities
- Install, cable, configure, and deploy physical computing hardware
- Diagnose server and workstation component failures
- Install and image Linux operating systems
- Troubleshoot failed operating-system installations and imaging processes
- Configure Linux systems for use in an enterprise environment
- Configure TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and network connectivity
- Configure user authentication, permissions, and remote access
- Install and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers
- Resolve hardware, operating-system, and network issues
- Support infrastructure deployments for engineering and operations teams
- Collaborate with systems and infrastructure engineers
- Configure network-switch interfaces as needed
Requirements
Core Qualifications
- Two or more years of hands-on IT systems, Linux administration, or infrastructure experience
- Strong hands-on Linux administration skills
- Experience with enterprise Linux distributions
- Experience building and deploying physical Linux systems from the ground up
- Knowledge of computer and server components
- Experience installing and cabling computing hardware
- Linux installation and imaging experience
- Ability to troubleshoot operating-system deployment failures
- Understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS
- Experience configuring Linux users, permissions, and access
- Familiarity with SSH configuration, privilege management, and enterprise identity integration
- Strong hardware, software, and networking troubleshooting skills
- Ability to follow established procedures and investigate issues beyond documented processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with bare-metal Linux deployments
- Experience supporting data centers or large computing environments
- Network-interface, switch-port, or VLAN configuration experience
- Virtualization-platform experience
- Windows Server and enterprise directory-services experience
- Firewall or VPN experience
- Industrial IT or manufacturing-technology experience
- Linux, networking, or systems-administration certifications
Employment Type: 13-week contract-to-hire position, onsite in Texas; approximately 50 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with schedule changes based on operational needs
