About the Role
This role supports the Project Management Office (PMO) for a large-scale manufacturing facility project spanning planning, engineering, procurement, construction, equipment installation, commissioning, and operational readiness. Reporting to the PMO Manager and working as part of a small PMO team, this contractor provides hands-on project controls, coordination, and reporting support across the full project lifecycle. The role is central to maintaining transparency and discipline around schedule, budget, risks, actions, decisions, and overall project performance, while working closely with project leadership, cross-functional teams, contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
This is a rare opportunity to support the build-out of a manufacturing facility from the ground up. The scope is truly end-to-end from production planning and engineering to HR infrastructure and facilities like the cafeteria. The contractor in this role will need to hold the full picture in mind at all times, making it an unusually complex and high-visibility engagement for someone who thrives in that kind of environment.
What You'll Do- Support the PMO Manager in coordinating project controls, governance, reporting, and overall project execution.
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, key milestones, dependencies, critical-path activities, and recovery plans.
- Support project budgeting, CAPEX/OPEX forecasting, cost tracking, commitments, accruals, and variance analysis.
- Consolidate schedule, cost, risk, and progress information into clear project dashboards and executive-level reporting.
- Maintain and drive follow-up on project action items, decisions, risks, issues, and change requests.
- Coordinate project meetings and governance reviews, including agendas, meeting minutes, decisions, and follow-up actions.
- Coordinate project information and deliverables across internal teams, contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Support construction progress and milestone-readiness reporting, including identification of delays, constraints, and required recovery actions.
- Proactively identify schedule, budget, risk, dependency, and execution concerns and escalate them to the PMO Manager and project leadership as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, structured, and audit-ready project documentation.
- Drive the monthly planning call, facilitating alignment across operational units (OUs) and work packages on timeline, costs, and technical topics.
- Mediate between different work packages and cross-functional teams to ensure handover processes are aligned and well-documented.
- Lead development of a plant specification book, driving alignment across teams to ensure all requirements are documented accurately and completely.
Typical Day
This contractor will spend the majority of their time driving the monthly planning call, tracking action items and budget, facilitating alignment discussions between production OUs and facilities planning, and cross-checking interfaces to ensure teams are aligned on handover processes. A significant ongoing workload involves building and maintaining a plant specification book coordinating input from multiple groups, following up on outstanding items, and ensuring that what is documented is accurate and complete.
