POSITION: Job Coach

STATUS: Full Time; 37.5 hours / week

SCHEDULE: 37.5 hours per week Flexible to meet the department needs  

LOCATION: Monroeville

COMPENSATION: $18.45/hr 

 

Milestone Centers, a subsidiary of Partners For Quality Inc., is a nonprofit, community-based human services agency supporting individuals with behavioral health challenges and intellectual & developmental disabilities in communities throughout Western Pennsylvania. 

Responsibilities:

Provides person-centered employment support to people with intellectual disabilities / autism to overcome barriers to employment by learning job-related tasks, building independence, and maintaining meaningful competitive integrated employment in the community.

 

  • Demonstrates commitment to Milestone’s mission and values by supporting each person with respect, dignity and compassion.
  • Provides supported employment services using person-centered, strength-based, and community-inclusive practices.
  • Job and task analysis
  • Provides systematic instruction and fades support as the person gains skills, develops natural support and meets employer expectations.
  • Supports the person in learning and using transportation options to travel to and from work as independently as possible.
  • Provides follow-along support, including assistance with newly assigned job tasks, workplace routines, natural support, and changes in employment expectations.
  • Build relationships with local businesses to create customized and integrated job opportunities.
  • Connect qualified candidates with compatible employers and assist with application and interview process.
  • Communicates with the supervisor, employment team, supports coordinator, and other team members regarding progress toward employment goals and outcomes, consistent with confidentiality requirements.
  • Assists with job shadowing and community-based assessments that reflect the person’s interests, preferences, strengths, and support needs.
  • Assists with completion of evaluative reports for OVR and other community employment partners using objective, respectful, and person-centered language.
  • Maintains standard of productivity levels as required by the program and supervisor
  • Participates in Individual Support Plan (ISP) meetings and related planning activities for assigned people receiving services, as appropriate.
  • Complete all required service documentation on the day of service
  • Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings to enhance skills, share information, and review program goals, outcomes, and procedures.
  • Complete required job-related training hours according to the Office of Departmental Programs (ODP) requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with one (1) year of related experience. Completion of some college coursework, vocational training, or an associate degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the needs of individuals with disabilities working in community-based settings.
  • Ability to provide one-on-one training to individuals using a range of instructional techniques.
  • Ability to understand and communicate the needs of the local business community and assess job performance effectively.
  • Schedule flexibility is required to accommodate varying shifts, including evenings.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license and access to a properly insured vehicle for daily work use required.
  • Prior experience in community-based disability services, employment supports or advocacy is strongly preferred.
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Reports results
  • Act 34 clearance and FBI background check, if applicable
  • APSE or ACRE Certification achieved within 60 days of hire
Minimum Compensation: USD $18.45/Hr. Maximum Compensation: USD $18.45/Hr.

Partners For Quality Inc. (PFQ) is a private, non-profit organization based in Robinson Township. Partners For Quality provides administrative management to five subsidiary organizations that support local individuals with intellectual & developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges. Exceptional Adventures has more than 40 years of experience providing vacation opportunities, social events and monthly dances for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our recreational and travel programs are designed to support guests in a wide variety of activities. Organized trips include motor coach, flight, train and cruise packages which are offered year-round.

Milestone Centers supports individuals with behavioral health challenges and intellectual & developmental disabilities in communities throughout Western Pennsylvania. Our Agency oversees 20 residential settings, two outpatient offices, three adult training facilities, a prevocational enterprise program, a consumer drop-in center, habilitation services, and two Health Care Quality Units in Butler and Warren, which train professionals in 18 counties. Milestone Centers has earned certification from the Sanctuary Institute for providing trauma-informed care.

The Partners For Quality Foundation conducts fundraising for all organizational services and supports.  Partners For Quality Inc. receives operating funds through various sources, private gifts, grants and special events helping the agency go “above and beyond” basic needs. The Foundation’s goal is to build and strengthen PFQ’s support resources to supplement government dollars.
