    Job Requirements

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    To be fully engaged in demonstrating I-Care Values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) by providing training and support for students with disabilities, business co-workers, families, and school district personnel to insure success during the work site rotations and/or a competitive job.

    PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Performs job coaching and job development at any Health First facility or local employer within the Brevard County community throughout the year.
    • Identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions as related to a student intern's specific job rotation or offsite/outside employment and training.
    • Perform specific job analysis, task analysis, and job matching activities.
    • Coach students in the areas of grooming, hygiene, communication, interviewing, and appropriate behaviors as they relate to successful employment.
    • Communicate with Project Search Team to make final decisions regarding any issues that may affect student success at a worksite rotation and at offsite employer.
    • Provide professional, courteous communication and information to customers.
    • Ability to be flexible with work shifts as needed, including hours and days, to meet the employment needs of student interns.
    • Ensure the safety of the students in the various work site rotations or environments within Health First, Inc. and offsite at employers. This may include a wide variety of departments, offices, and classroom community environments
    • Adhere to all legal requirements concerning the safety and welfare of the interns.
    • Protect the confidentiality of business information unless disclosure serves a professional purpose within the scope of the program or is required by law.

    Work Experience

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Education: High School Diploma or other combination of education and experience may be considered.
    • Licensure: Possess a valid driver's license.
    • Certification: Pass Vocational Rehabilitation best practices supported employment part one and introduction social security work incentive''s part 2 within two months from the start date.
    • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Willingness to work non-traditional hours and schedule based on the student's needs.
    • Able to drive throughout Brevard County.
    • Pass appropriate school board requirements and screenings.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Education: High School Diploma or other combination of education and experience may be considered
    • Work Experience: 1 year successful work with students.
    • Licensure: Florida Driver's License
    • Certification: Pass Vocational Rehabilitation best practices supported employment part one and introduction social security work incentives part 2.
    • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Coach students challenged with a disability.
    • Work independently or within the team environment.
    • Keep accurate documentation.
    • Able to motivate students.
    • Possess good communication skills with professionals, families, and students.
    • Able to build and maintain relationships with students, professionals and families.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, stooping.
    • Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
    • Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
    • May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
    • Communicating with others to exchange information.
    • Workspace may vary from open to confined.
    • May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
