Johnnys Tavern - Prep Cook

The ideal candidate is passionate about food and cooking with a strong desire to learn and will have an understanding of what it takes to execute high quality food in a high volume atmosphere. We are looking for someone reliable and who takes pride in producing an incredible product.

Pay is $15- $18 based on experience. The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing items that will be cooked on the line. Following recipes, executing a prep list to make sure everything is accomplished in a timely manner.

• Perform routine kitchen tasks.
• Follow the prep list created to plan duties.
• Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible.
• Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking.
• Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prep.
• Set up workstations and ingredients so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
• Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food.
• Prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees.
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash.
• Ensure that all food and other items are stored properly.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Passion for food
• A team player with a hospitality first mentality and a keen willingness to learn
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
• Ability to stand, walk and lift heavy items for extended periods of time
• Two years experience preferred, but we will train the right restaurant candidate who shows a willingness to learn in a collaborative environment
