Position Description:

Seeking an experienced Journeyman Carpenter to join our Maintenance Services team in Merrifield, VA. This role involves performing building maintenance, including construction, alteration, installation, and repairs of facilities and furnishings. The ideal candidate will serve as a project manager for various maintenance projects, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with all regulations. You will be responsible for constructing custom cabinets and shelves, performing preventive maintenance, and overseeing external contractors. You will also inspect building systems, diagnose structural issues, and provide technical guidance to staff across trades such as electrical, plumbing, and mechanical services. This position requires a proactive team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. On-site work at our Merrifield location is essential.

Top Requirements:

• 5-10 years of relevant carpentry and maintenance experience
• Thorough knowledge of local, state, and national building codes
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical documentation, and construction plans
• Ability to lead projects, coordinate with contractors, and ensure timely completion
• Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Thorough understanding of safety regulations and materials used in commercial carpentry
• Effective communication skills and team leadership experience
